Who can apply?

Austrian CSOs: the applicant organisation must have its registered office in Austria, be established in civil society and cooperate with a local project partner. Projects and programmes are based on the CSO's own initiative and are directed at meeting the specific needs of the target groups in developing countries. The financial resources the CSOs are required to contribute differ depending on funding instrument and project country; Projects which are aimed at poverty reduction and the protection of peace and human security in developing countries. Gender equality, preservation of the environment and the inclusion of vulnerable and disadvantaged parts of the population (particularly children, elderly persons, and people with disabilities) are essential aspects in all projects.

Objectives and initiatives

CSOs play a key role in society: they implement a wide range of development projects contributing to improving the standards of living in developing countries, are familiar with local conditions and able to reach out to the poorest sections of the population.  CSOs play an important role, both in achieving concrete immediate results in poverty reduction, and by increasing the long-term effectiveness of aid.

Type and level of funding

The maximum amount of funding contributed by Austrian Development Agency (ADA) is EUR 150.000 at a rate of up to 50% of the total project cost. Framework Programme (3 years: EUR 300,000)
