The EaSI programme is a financing instrument at EU level to promote a high level of quality and sustainable employment, guaranteeing adequate and decent social protection, combating social exclusion and poverty and improving working conditions. EaSI is managed directly by the European Commission.

Who can apply?

Any natural or legal person active in education and research institutions, public authorities and enterprises - SMEs,  from within the EU Member States and EEA countries.

Objectives and activities

The objective is to support:


  • Strengthen ownership and coordination of action at EU and national level in the areas of employment, social affairs and inclusion.
  • Support the development of social protection systems and labour market policies.
  • Modernise EU legislation and ensure its application.
  • Increase the availability and accessibility of microfinance and micro-enterprises, and increase access to finance for social enterprises.
  • Promote geographical mobility and boost employment opportunities, through specific action to promote women's employment and social inclusion.

Type and level of funding

The total budget for 2014-2020 is €919,469,000.

Financial assistance is provided in the form of grants, loans and equity investments.
